Jon has been serving as Lead Pastor at Countryside Covenant Church since 2006! Jon and his wife, Lynn have three married children and one grandchild: Micah (Jordan and baby Simon), Molly (Talon) and Mattea (Kaden).
Vision for Position: Jon has found this church to be a place filled wtih God's grace, while not sacrificing God's truth. We are all in need of God's grace and are called to be dispensers of His grace to others. With that in mind, it is his vision to see every believer utilize their spiritual gift(s) for the purpose of encouraging and building up others by God's grace. The Apostle Paul wrote:
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith." - Ephesians 4:11-13.
Spiritual Gifts: Jon's primary spiritual gifts are all linked to his calling: Pastor/teacher, wisdom, encouragement and evangelism.
Hobbies and Interests and Favorites: Jon enjoys playing tennis and pickleball with friends in our community. He also loves spending extended time with Lynn on his days off. We have been known to take day trips to visit our children and grandchild. They also enjoy visiting various small towns to explore their unique attractions (i.e. museums, restaurants, shopping and, of course, historical sites such as the largest ball of twine.)
Jon is fond of pizza, cheeseburgers and Buffalo chicken wings (medium and barbecue). He is an avid sports fan and loves to read biographies. Finally, Jon loves serving Jesus, his wife, his family, and his church family. He considers himself to be a very blessed man to serve at Countryside.
