Lizy grew up just north of McPherson in Lindsborg, Ks. AKA Little Sweden USA. There she and her six siblings grew up together at the Lindsborg Covenant Church and got her first taste of youth ministry serving as a middle school volunteer during her senior year of high school. She then attended Kansas State University, completing a degree in Family Studies and Human Services, with an emphasis in youth development. During her college years, Lizy completed an internship year in youth ministry and even served a year as an Interim Youth Director. She worked as the Director of Student Ministries at New Hope Church in Manhattan, Ks for four years following college. For the last six years she as been working as a SAHM to her four small kiddos, while still being engaged in youth discipleship. Lizy stepped into the role of Director of Student Ministries at Countryside Covenant Church in May of 2024.
She and her husband Nick were married in the summer of 2015. They have four children. Nora 7, Theo 6, Archie 4 and Gwen 1.5years old. They love to spend time together as a family, even if it’s a little chaotic and loud! You can often find them attending college or high school sporting events, eating at Freddy’s Frozen Custard or playing at a park.
Vision:
Youth Ministry has my heart. The years between twelve and 18 for adolescents are an extraordinary time. Not just in their natural growth and development, but in their spiritual formation. Students going through the middle school and high school years are tested in their faith, in their identity, in their friendships, homelife, school life… all of it. It is my greatest joy to lead the students into a deeper understanding of who our God is and His loving and faithful character; to help them develop their own character out of the truth and knowledge of scripture, and help them understand and experience the unending Grace that is offered through Christ Jesus. I hope our students can feel empowered by the Holy Spirit to make an impact for the Kingdom in everything they do, whether that’s in school or sports or jobs or their homelife. I pray that they never let anyone look down on them because they are young, but that they’re able to set an example to other believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Favorites:
I LOVE to travel! I’ve been to almost 30 of the 50 states! I’ve spent time in South America, Asia, and Europe. I prefer to road trip but also don’t mind a long flight. Lemonade is my favorite beverage. And I will never turn down an ice cream cone. I prefer podcasts to music and could live in a good baggy sweatshirt. My all-time favorite show is Gilmore Girls and I will defend it to my death.
