Crescendo (55plus)

Every person at Countryside who is 55 plus, growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ and engaged in His kingdom ministry.

Daily 10,000 people reach the age of 65.  By 2030, one in five Americans will be over 65, by 2035 there will be more people over 65 than under the age of 18!  The Baby boomer and older generations are to be mobilized for ministry! Rather than retirement, we seek to re-tool, re-invent, and re-imagine what God may have for us in this season of life as we are challenged to participate in minstries by, with, and for older adults.

Our goals
To grow Spiritually, Physically, Intellectually, Emotionally, in Community, while Serving God and others.

Crescendo is not a program; it's a mindset.  It's not an activity; it's an attitude. Each month Crescendo will offer opportunities for older adults to grow in all of these areas as they walk with Jesus and build His kingdom in this fruitful season of life.

Crescendo Cov Talk with Darrell Arthaud
Sat Nov 16 at 9:30am in Countryside's Cafe and room 15

Darryl has been on literally dozens of short-term mission trips as a servant of Christ and pharmacist. His travels have taken him to several continents! Take in the adventure as you see his pictures of travel, hear interesting stories, and relive his insights. Hear how God has used Darryl to bring healing, light, and purpose to both those he serves and to his own life.

Coffee will be served; bring a small plate of treats to share.

RSVP to the church office

Sat Dec 7th from 4 to 6:30pm
Travel from house to house for each meal course

Participants can expect to host a group of eight and provide one of three parts of a meal: appetizer, salad, or main dish.  If you live out of town, we’ll have you bring something for dessert. If you don’t care to host in your home, choose a restaurant just for your course of the meal; be creative!  Along the way we’ll provide the conversation starters for you to “remember the stories of Christmas” and to tell your own story.

Deadline Dec. 1 with the church office.

Discipleship
A disciple is someone who makes Jesus their top priority, obeys His commands, and invests in others to do the same.
There are numerous ways to fulfill Jesus's commission. Consider and try one:

Help with our youngest at Countryside in the nursery or on Wednesday evenings. Invest in others by spending time with them doing simple things in life.
OR, become a "Faith Friend" to a confirmation student. Pray for them, watch their school activities, welcome them to church Sundays.
OR, attend the RVL Discipleship class Sundays at 9:45am to learn how Jesus discipled, then follow His example.
OR, join a life group with Grandparenting as its focus. Learn creative ways to help share Jesus with the next generation.
OR, pray & ask the Lord to give you someone to invest your time, interests, and love of God with.

Ask any staff member for more info!
Widows Connection
First Tuesdays at 9:30am at the Cedars Wellness Center

Whether recently widowed or experienced in the journey, find connection, empathy, and hope as you meet with other women in this season of life. We also sponsor outings on the third Saturday of the month. Contact Judy Blaine or Lynn Black through the church office for more information.
