As I wrote in my last devotion, I’ve been thinking some more about the concept of God being a miracle worker. Saturday as I sat at my desk at home and looked out on the backyard, I saw God’s beauty through the day lilies that will someday became beauties; I saw irises that will stand tall and add color to the landscape. The ground cover will fill in the much-needed bare spots and make the yard “come alive” with life once again. I love it that the trees are beginning to bloom and can’t wait until they are in full bloom and everything is like it’s supposed to be.

This past week a special friend became a grandmother but, unfortunately, she has to “grandmother” from a distance, not able to be there for her daughter nor her family. She can’t wait until the day she gets to hold that precious gift from God in her arms and celebrate this new little life. But their lives are changed because of this little miracle!

God is definitely in the miracle making business. In the quiet of a stream or the majesty of a mountain range, how can people say there isn’t a God? How does water etch away at rocks and boulders to create a calming setting or a mountain that causes me to say “WOW? This was once covered with water and after the water receded the mountains were there.”

But to be honest, some of this doesn’t make sense in my finite mind. But then I read Psalm 77:14 … “You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.” The power of God through the Holy Spirit draws us to faith in Christ by first convicting us of our sinfulness. Last week I was used by God as He performed a miracle in a friend’s life. She had been struggling with life in general but knew that she needed a personal relationship with Jesus. And through her brokenness she prayed and asked Him into her life. She believes and so do I that she is a miracle; that God worked a miracle in her life!

What miracles has God performed in your life recently? Have you had some God moments? How have you seen God’s power displayed? I sure have and I hope you have too!

Thank you, Heavenly Father for bringing life to both nature and to us! Thank you for drawing my friend to You! Thank you for the miracles you perform daily in our midst. We don’t like this virus and all that goes with it, but we love you and really, that’s all that matters!
